SOLAR POWER
With the recent reduction in solar installation costs, we are now seeing a rise in client interest in sustainable design. Consequently, we are moving our practice towards highly energy efficient design, incorporating super-insulated building envelopes, newer mechanical system technologies and solar panel arrays, as we target a “Net Zero” energy footprint for our future projects.
Reeve Place utilizes highly efficient mini split heat pumps for both heating and cooling as well as Solar arrays on a canopy above the roof and solar “awnings” across the South facing rear wall. This solar system was designed late in the construction period to appear to be part of the original design concept.
We are using the same approach on our latest Spec House, in construction at Greene Avenue in Brooklyn.
